2026 RSA China Branch Annual Conference Successfully Held

On March 21, 2026, the Regional Studies Association (RSA) China Branch Annual Conference was successfully held in Wuhan. The conference was jointly organized by RSA China Branch and Wuhan University Economics and Management School, attracting over 200 experts from Peking University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Nankai University, Beijing Normal University, Chinese Academy of Sciences Geographical Sciences and Resources Research Institute, and other institutions.

The conference theme was "Regional Coordinated Development and Regional Resilience in the New Era," covering topics like regional coordination theories and methods, "New Triple Transformation" empowering regional high-quality development, urban clustersand metropolitan areas, regional green low-carbon development, territorial spatial governance, regional innovation, regional industrial division, urban-rural integration, and regional population flows.

Keynote speeches were delivered by leading scholars including Fang Chuanglin, He Canfei, Jin Fengjun, Shao Shuai, Zhou Mi, Li Zhigang, and Luo Zhi, addressing topics from modern urban cluster classification and governance to China's regional economic resilience.

The conference featured 11 specialized sessions and academic salons discussing regional high-quality development under globalization changes, innovation networks, energy transition practices, green Silk Road, watershed ecological governance, regional economic resilience under multiple crises, and AI's impact on regional research paradigms.

The conference concluded with a flag handover ceremony, announcing that the 2027 conference will be hosted by Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology School of Management.
